Mr. Vice President,
In the course of this campaign for the great office of President of the United States, you have launched a series of mean-spirited, hateful, and malicious assaults on me. It’s pathetic! The Gore campaign is a juggernaut, with your followers marching in lock-step. This unseemly takeover of the political process is akin to terrorism.
You have claimed my health plan would hurt minorities. Yes, you have implied I am a racist. Hey, I kissed the ring of Al Sharpton. Besides, you’re the guy who first dredged up Willie Horton.
You — of all people! — have referred to me as a man of “limited vision.” You have called me a quitter. Even worse, you have sought to link me with President Ronald Reagan and the eeeevil 1980s! You have accused me of wanting to “blow” the surplus and destroy the economy. You sent Corn Man, one of your campaign operatives dressed in costume, to follow me around Iowa. When will it end? How, in the name of decency, can you call yourself a liberal?
This is nothing but bigotry and intolerance.
What am I, a Republican?
Your divisive, partisan attacks must cease. It is time to get back to business. Let’s move on. Stop the hate!
